The restoration of St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle has won South East Region 'Building Conservation Award', and 'Overall Runner Up for Regional Project of the Year' in the RICS 2010 Awards Scheme. Martin Ashley Architects is privileged to be part of the team undertaking phased external stonework and associated repairs to the Chapel together with conservation and representation of the interior on behalf of the Dean and Canons of Windsor.
The award citations highlight the quality of the conservation work, and the Dean and Canons important initiative with the City & Guilds of London Art School to procure imaginative new external stone carvings. As regional winner, the project will go forward to the RICS National Awards later this year.
