![]() See insulating glazing in a new light with Histoglass MONO Posted by Histoglass on 23rd September 2011. Thin Double Glazing is great, but what if it can’t be fitted into small rebates?
Histoglass continues to make sustainable heritage possible with intelligently designed products. What if you have rebates so narrow they cannot hide the edge seal (sight line) of thin double glazed units? In that case, it’s worth taking a look at our new product MONO, a laminated glazing product with extra acoustic and thermal insulation properties – and no edge seal.
The pane facing into the room has a Low-E coating, and this, in combination with the special patented film between the glass layers, achieves a U-value of 3.6 and provides acoustic insulation of 35 dB.
As with our thin double glazing, you can choose between genuine Hand Drawn (GD) and Machine Drawn (MD) glass for the outward facing pane, each with their own unique imperfections and refractive qualities which modern day copies can’t hold a candle to.
We know it doesn’t achieve the same performance as our thin double glazing, but it’s certainly an improvement on single glazing - which surely makes it the next best thing.
Histoglass supply 10mm thin double glazing for the restoration of historic buildings. Histoglass is designed to be installed into existing timber and metal frames without altering the fine detailing of the glazing bars. Find out more about Histoglass in the Products Directory
