£380 is a very reasonable amount, why ?To help fulfil our vision we want ProjectBook to grow quickly and be large enough to give everyone owning or involved with old buildings in the UK a proper choice - keeping the cost down makes ProjectBook affordable for all businesses, including sole traders.
Can I use the ProjectBook logo on my stationary and website?Members have exclusive use of the ProjectBook Registered Business Logo, which they can use on their website or blog and link back to us, and also any stationary that they wish.
Can I offer a discount to other ProjectBook members?Yes, we actively encourage our members to offer discounts to ProjectBook business members.
Do I have to use social media with ProjectBook?
No, this is not required, however the mix of social media and ProjectBook often creates an invaluable tool to online promotion within the sector and is a great way to make many new business contacts.
How can I help ProjectBook grow?Recommend to us those businesses you regularly use and have come to rely on. In return we will give you £15 off your next years subscription as a thank you for every new business that signs with us.
How can I promote my business?
There are three main ways you can promote with us, the first is by creating a listing on our site. Membership also includes the opportunity to promote your business on ProjectBook and with Country Life by writing short articles or blogs, this increases your exposure in high profile locations online. Thirdly you can join one of our Heritage Together groups, meet other professionals and get work through networking.
How do I pay for my Listing?Payment is made as part of the application process and can be made by using our secure credit/debit card facilities online, making a BACS payment or by sending us a cheque.
How do you promote?Marketing is a very important part of ProjectBook and we understand the need to effectively reach a large audience. We have a dedicated marketing team who use the tried and tested methods such as web optimisation (SEO), PPC Google Adwords, advertising, shows, exhibitions, press releases etc but we also use "new media" tools and creative ideas to put the ProjectBook brand and your business on the map.
How long does it take to complete the application form?The online application form is designed to be quick and straightforward to fill in. It takes about 15 minutes on average to complete.
How many views does my listing get a year?
It varies hugely. The amount of content you upload to your listing affects the amount of views your listing receives. Listings that are updated with lots of images, projects and text can expect thousands of views per year, whereas listings with little information can expect less.
How often do you hold events and who goes to them?In September 2010 we launched our ‘Heritage Together’ initiative. Since then we have been holding networking events, training courses and one off events on a regular basis. Our courses and events are attended by anyone and everyone involved in heritage and conservation, including local councils, heritage bodies and societies and of course many of our business members.
How will I know that ProjectBook is working for me?All business members can login to My ProjectBook anytime and see statistics on how many times their entry has been viewed and bookmarked. Unfortunately for privacy & legal reasons we cannot display who's been looking at your entry.
I currently don't have a website - can I use my entry as my own website?Yes. Simply contact us with your URL i.e www.mywebsite.com and we will link this directly to your web entry. If, in the future you develop your own website, simple contact us and we will cancel the arrangement immediately. This is offered FOC for members
Is the application form and payment facility secure?Yes. All information submitted is covered by the data protection act and we do not provide data to third parties. ProjectBook is also registered with GeoTrust and has a quickSSL 256 bit SSL certificate which offers the highest level of encription/security possible. Details of our registration can be viewed by clicking on the GeoTrust logo located on the right hand side of the site in secure locations.
Is there only one style of entry?Yes. For our site users to be able to compare and make an informed choice, all entries are displayed in the same format.
What does heritage sector focus mean?
‘Heritage Sector Focus’ refers to the buildings that ProjectBook focuses on and that its members supply materials and products for or work on. This includes not only listed buildings but some 5,500,000 pre-1919 properties that are not currently listed. Our focus therefore extends beyond only listed buildings and includes buildings have been constructed using traditional materials and techniques.
What if my application is declined?If, for whatever reason your application is declined, we will inform you, explaining why in our opinion your businesses isn't eligible and refund your money in full.
What is the advantage of writing articles for ProjectBook and Country Life online?Writing short articles is an easy way of promoting your business to a huge audience. We provide the opportunity for you to post content relating to your business in multiple locations online. Posting on ProjectBook and Country Life as well as your own website targets a wide audience and increases your status online.
Who uses ProjectBook?ProjectBook is used by a wide variety of people, from period home and listed property owners we meet at shows and exhibitions to our own business members. Our regular site users include national heritage organisations and charities and conservation officers who refer clients to our site.
Why does ProjectBook uses social media?
One of the ways that ProjectBook chooses to promote itself and its members is through social media platform Twitter. Used regularly it is an indispensible tool to connect with thousands of like minded professionals and keep in touch with what is happening in the heritage and conservation sector.
How long does it take from when I apply, to seeing my entry?We aim to process all applications and activate them online within 24 hours. You are then able to login 24/7 to edit, add more categories and add more information & pictures etc
I'm already a member of an organisation. What else can you offer me?Most organisations are primarily orientated towards providing a service for their members. ProjectBook is a marketing platform that gives businesses effective tools to market themselves, so you can build your business profile and client base.
If I'm a member of ProjectBook, does this constitute accredition?ProjectBook is not an accreditation scheme. We acknowledge there are many excellent schemes and organisations in the industry, and if you seek formal accrediation we would encourage you to approach them. We also appreciate, that for some professionals, industry accepted accrediation does not currently exist.
Can I post a Job/Project if I'm not a ProjectBook member?Yes you can, although to maintain the integrity of the job board and site, we screen all job entry's by non ProjectBook members to make sure they are relevant to the sector.
How do I receive enquiries?It's up to you. Choose to receive phone enquiries, applications by post or have applications and CV files sent straight to your My ProjectBook mailbox.
Is £45 really the full cost for the advert?Yes, At ProjectBook we have a straightforward policy which means no hidden extras. It costs £45 to post either a job or a project for a one month period. Payment is by credit card or cheque. Simple
What's the difference between a job listing and a project listing?A job listing works like a normal recruitment service. The project listings enable you to recruit for short or long term projects that are date sensitive. Locate a helper for a week to assist you fitting a kitchen, or assemble a complete team for a major new project.
