Description:

Do you have a Gertrude Jekyll under your lawn?

An introduction for anyone who owns a period garden and would like an overview on of how to restore and re-construct their own period garden project.

Suitable for those with no prior experience, as well as more seasoned period garden owners. Whether you have found a historical gem under that lawn or not, this one day course will give you a fascinating insight into the process of unearthing a period garden and restoring it!

Also suitable for people with a period home who wish to re-construct a garden to suit their style of house and frame the property more effectively.

This Period Garden day will give you enough confidence to take effective decisions on your period garden project and minimise expensive mistakes; where to start, how to go about it, and where to research for further information.

This is a day of bite size lectures and advice on how to start your own investigation into your period garden, and how to begin the process of restoring or re-constructing the garden.

You will learn how to research and find information on your garden, and consider planning requirements and budgeting alongside the processes required to effectively restore a garden and re-construct in a period style.

In order to bring the garden into the C21st we will discuss how to re-interpret the style for a more effective use in today’s lifestyle, as well as how to minimise maintenance and maximise the look.

We will look at hard landscaping, planting plans, colour, texture, lighting and materials, and how to interview specialists if required.

You will be shown how to put your own project plan together which will help you pull together the design of the garden you want.

There are lots of opportunities for Q&A throughout the day and an Information Pack stuffed with useful information for you to take away.
