Reference Submission
This policy sets out the terms upon which Projectbook Limited (hereinafter "Projectbook", "we", "our" or "us") will treat references provided to us by you the referee (hereinafter "you" or the "Referee") in respect of businesses in the conservation/heritage sector (hereinafter "businesses" or "business" in the singular), as part of its vetting process for the inclusion of businesses on a register/database to be included on the Projectbook website.


PLEASE READ THE TERMS OF THE POLICY BELOW CAREFULLY PRIOR TO RETURNING ANY REQUESTED REFERENCE TO PROJECTBOOK.


In return for providing the requested reference to Projectbook, Projectbook undertakes to:

  • Treat all references provided as strictly confidential and will not publicly disclose the identity of the Referee on its Website without the prior consent of the Referee. By returning a reference to Projectbook you give your implied consent to the inclusion of the reference provided by you on Projectbook's website (www.projectbook.co.uk) (hereinafter "the Website") to be available for viewing by the general public, unless otherwise expressly indicated by you in writing to Projectbook.

  • Include any references provided by the Referee only on its register of vetted businesses on the Website and for no other purpose (including for sale, marketing or other purposes).

  • Accept that the Referee shall bear no responsibility or liability towards Projectbook, any business or any customer of any business for any costs, claims, losses, damages or other liabilities incurred by any of the foregoing as a result of reliance upon any reference provided by the Referee to Projectbook. Notwithstanding the above, the Referee shall however provide all due and reasonable care in providing a reference, shall do so in good faith and shall include nothing which may be considered defamatory, insulting, fraudulent or misleading for the general public if and when viewed.

  • Remove from the Website any reference provided by a Referee promptly and at any time if so requested in writing by the Referee concerned.

The Referee understands and accepts that:

  • Any reference provided by it will be included on a website containing a register of vetted and approved businesses working in the heritage/ conservation sector available for general viewing by members of the public. Unless otherwise requested by you in writing (as at paragraph 1 above) the reference may specifically identify or refer to you as the Referee.

  • The reference is part of a general vetting process to be undertaken by Projectbook into the business concerned and may be relied upon by members of the public when choosing to employ or engage businesses for renovation, restoration or other building or consultancy work on buildings, landmarks or other property pre-dating 1919. The Referee therefore agrees to exercise a duty of reasonable care in providing the reference (as at paragraph 3 above) and to act in good faith at all times. If the Referee does not feel sufficiently well-placed or suitably qualified to provide a reference requested in respect of a particular business for the purposes envisaged above, it will inform Projectbook promptly and will take no further action in this regard.

By returning a reference to Projectbook in respect of a particular Business, the Referee confirms that it has read and accepts the above policy and terms.
