About

The National Association of Chimney Engineers was formed in 1982 by a group of independent companies specialising in chimney lining. Their purpose was to set and enforce national standards of workmanship and quality of product in this demanding sector of the construction industry, culminating in the recent introduction of NVQs (Chimney Engineering).

NACE has a strict set of requirements demanded from members, both new and existing, intended to provide the consumer with an effective service and to put any doubts aside regarding the quality and safety of the work carried out by a NACE member. You won’t find any 'fly-by-night', 'cowboys', or 'con-men' in the NACE members list. What you will find is a selection of the most professional tradesmen in the chimney engineering industry, who are committed to providing a quality and cost effective service, what ever your chimneys needs may be.

The Association Mission is to:
Ensure the safety of all fuel users who depend upon a chimney or flue for the operation of a heating appliance by providing a register of competent & qualified chimney engineers for all types of chimney work.

'NACE Approved' chimney lining installers provide an economic solution to all problems relating to damaged flueways giving an alternative to demolishing and rebuilding the stack itself.

NACE installers will give sensible advice as to the type of lining required to suit the appliance and to conform to the statutory Building Regulations and manufacturers standard practice recommendations.

All NACE members are trained and qualified to carry out installations to the high standard of workmanship required by the association, thus upgrading the structure and performance of the chimney for the safety of the occupants.
