About
Since 2004, East Midlands Centre for Constructing the Built Environment has been working to improve the social, economic and environmental performance of the East Midlands construction industry.
EMCBE are committed to working with the whole construction supply-chain across the region to help improve its performance and ensure its long-term sustainability in an ever changing world.
In order to do this, EMCBE communicates and engages with all industry stakeholders through awareness raising, training and events. The aim is to bring order to the currently disjointed efforts of over 300+ industry improvement organisations, trade associations, government bodies and associations in the region.
EMCBE hosts an annual award ceremony to recognise commitment to excellence within the construction industry. The EMCBE awards are now established as a regular highlight in the construction industry calendar, and aim to provide peer recognition for nominees and winners – a potential source of new business, better industry relationships and increased staff morale.
EMCBE ensures that these activities remain relevant to industry by continuing to undertake research to understand the needs of the industry and future trends.
Among EMCBE’s roles is that of host to the Traditional Skills Hub for the Midlands, or HeritageHUB. EMCBE has secured support from English Heritage to protect and enhance skills for this important part of the region's economy.
EMCBE’s monthly e-newsletter Constructive boasts a large readership and provides a regular source of news for the construction industry. It aims to promote clarity between various parts of the sector by providing a comprehensive view of current developments and areas of interest.
