Located close to the historic town of Lewes in East Sussex, Parsons Joinery Ltd, has built an excellent local reputation for quality joinery and efficient service.
Lewes, with its predominance of Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian architecture, with some earlier timber framed 15th and 16th century properties, has provided us with a range of projects including the replication of original architectural features and, by contrast, the design of contemporary joinery.
This local experience within Lewes, Brighton and the surrounding hamlets, villages and towns, has involved replacing windows, doors and staircases in properties of particular historical importance in conservation areas often involving working within the parameters of planning regulations and restrictions.
This wealth of experience has enabled us to expand our customer base beyond the local market to include West Sussex, Kent and London working for architects, designers, building contractors and private individuals.
Visitors are welcome to examine the quality of our joinery at our Ringmer workshops on appointment or, alternatively, refer to our portfolio for examples of previous projects.
We are happy to discuss your project in situ and/or provide a free quotation based on architect's drawings.

| Title: | Orangery/kitchen extension | |
| Year: | 2009 |
| Client: | Mr. and Mrs. Flavelle |
To create a light and airy kitchen/dining room extension to this large, detached property, we were commissioned to manufacture and install three roof lanterns, one set of eight bi-folding doors and various windows and fixed doors. All the joinery has been glazed with 24mm double glazed units and the glass on the roof lanterns has a solar control and easy clean finish.
| Title: | Replacement windows and doors | |
| Year: | 2009 |
| Client: | Mr. and Mrs. Sparey |
As part of a major refurbishment project on a large Victorian villa in Hastings, we were commissioned to replace traditional sliding sash windows and doors incorporating a new concept in the construction of double glazed units. These slim 14mm, crypton filled double glazed units can achieve the standards of thermal efficiency required of current Building Regulations whilst maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the traditional style windows.
| Title: | Renovation of period property | |
| Year: | 2009 |
| Client: | Mr. K. Fozzard |
Over a period of several months, we were involved in the renovation of this delightful, brick faced terraced cottage located within the Conservation area in Lewes. The windows throughout were beyond repair and were replaced with traditional sliding sash sash windows on the front elevation, a sliding Yorkshire window in the kitchen and a casement in the bathroom. Shutters were designed and fitted to increase privacy and the existing front door was replaced with a four panel, Victorian style replacement with bolection moulding. Various storage solutions were manufactured and fitted in the living room, bathroom and bedrooms and the existing staircase was replaced. Glazed patio doors were installed to open out onto the secluded, walled and terraced garden.
| Title: | Custom-made kitchen | |
| Year: | 2009 |
| Client: | Mr. and Mrs. Sparey |
Working closely with the client, we advised on the design of this Shaker style kitchen, manufacturing the custom-made units for fitting by the clients.
| Title: | Roof lantern | |
| Year: | 2009 |
| Client: | Mr. and Mrs. Kirker |
When our clients relocated to their beautiful property in Lewes, close to the South Downs, they wanted to improve the appearance of a rather dated lean-to addition to the rear of the house which had a sloping corrugated plastic roof which was leaking badly. The overall structure was sound but the appearance of the extension was dingy and dated. Working closely with their chosen builder who would be forming the flat roof and preparing the aperture for the roof lantern, we were commissioned to manufacture an 1800mm x 4300mm lantern, manufactured in idigbo with brown aluminium capping to the exterior and easy clean, solar control double glazed units.
| Title: | Bi-folding doors | |
| Year: | 2009 |
| Client: | Mr. and Mrs. Slack |
To create a modern, spacious kitchen/dining room, our clients removed the dividing wall between the rooms and commissioned two sets of custom-made, hardwood, bi-folding doors to open outwards into the secluded, walled garden beyond. These three leaf door sets can either be operated as a single door or fold back completely on a smooth running track system.
