Generally speaking, the standard of restored interiors of listed and period buildings in this county is shocking. Repairs are badly executed, the addition of new work is often ill conceived, mouldings reproduced to match originals do not, lost / damaged original ironmongery is replaced with inferior off the shelf products and finishes look as though they have come out of a treacle tin.........on the other hand....
